- Walk or mountain bike the Wither Hills and enjoy superb views across the Wairau Valley to Cloudy Bay. On a clear day you can see across to the North Island.
- The region is famous for the Marlborough Sounds with its sheltered bays and inlets ideal for cruising and fishing. Local reserves offer many walking tracks like the Queen Charlotte Track, Nydia track. Pelorus Track, Our Treasured Pathway and many other tracks and coastal paths.
- Blenheim is the heart of the Marlborough region offering art galleries and numerous shops. The focal point of Blenheim is the attractive Seymour Square with it flower beds, clock tour and fountain. Blenheim has a reputation for its gardens including Pollard Park, Waterlea and Woodend Gardens.
- Visit Blenheims Farmers Market every Sunday morning and sample locally grown vegetables, olives, fruit. Sit back and enjoy great coffee and entertainment from Mid October to late May.
- Visit Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre - designed to fascinate, educate and inspire visitors of all ages bringing history to life in a spectacular presentation of static and flyable aircraft.
- Of historic interest are the Riverlands Cob cottage and the Brayshaw Museum Park with is reconstructed colonial village. Brayshaw Park hosts the beginning of a 9km Riverside narrow gauge (610mm) Railway terminating at Beaver Station adjacent to Blenheim town.
- Stroll the towns of Picton, Havelock or drive an hour to St Arnaud and the picturesque Lake Rotoiti, or take a day out to ski Rainbow.
- Fish for Salmon and Brown Trout from the Wairau River or the latter and Whitebait (when in season) closer to home from the banks of the Opawa River at the bottom of our garden.
- Cruise the River Queen down the Opawa River and enjoy the river and flora and fauna on the winding Opawa River with a glass of local wine and food.
- Green Gables Bed and Breakfast is only one and a half hours drive from Nelson and Kaikoura and both towns can be visited on separate day trips.
